LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Two drug personalities were arrested while close to P60,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized during separate anti-illegal drug operations in Kalinga and Baguio City over the weekend.
In Kalinga, the joint operatives of Balbalan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Regional Intelligence Unit 14, Regional Intelligence Division, 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and PDEA-CAR conducted a buy-bust operation in Sitio Basao, Barangay Tawang, Balbalan that resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old farmer after he sold two sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less more or less 1 gram with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P6,800.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
In Baguio City, a buy-bust operation conducted by the joint operatives of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO)-Aurora Hill Police Station (PS6), City Drug Enforcement Unit, City Investigation and Detective Management Unit, City Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit- 14, BCPO-Loakan Police Station (PS4), and PDEA-CAR led to the arrest of a High Value Individual in Purok 1, Green Water Village.
The suspect was apprehended after selling one sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 2 grams with an SDP of P13,600.00 to an undercover operative.
During his arrest, additional suspected shabu weighing more or less 5.3 grams with a market value of P36,040.00 and suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing more or less 7.0 grams with a market value of P840.00 were recovered from his possession.
The suspects, along with the seized evidence, were taken to the respective operating units in charge for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violating R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them. By Dexter A. See
