TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Twenty-one business establishments from the different parts of this province joined a seminar for employers, workers and members of DOLE-registered associations on green productivity.
The Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board of Cordillera region in cooperation with its mother agency, the Department of Labor and Employment-CAR conducted the seminar on June 10, 2015 at Davidson Hotel, Tabuk Kalinga.
DOLE Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena explained that the Green productivity seminar is meant for the members of associations, private employers and their workers to support the greening program of government through waste prevention, resource conservation and pollution control in the workplace.
“Green Productivity is a strategy that enhances both productivity and environmental performance for socio-economic development.
It reduces the overall impact of an organization’s activities, products or services on the environment while enhancing profitability and competitive advancement, also Green productivity incorporates not just the environmental concerns but also economic performance in the improvement process” Dir. Jalbuena added.
The training module or techniques used in green productivity includes basic productivity concepts and measurements, benefits of productivity improvement, 5S of Good Housekeeping, Workplace cooperation on resource efficiency productivity and environment.
Participants are from various industries such as restaurant, retail and wholesale, construction, farm and educational institute were encouraged to adopt green productivity principles as an integral part of their business to improve working environment, production process and product quality.
