BAGUIO CITY – Combined police operatives and intelligence agents arrested a 21-year old wanted person in her residence at Brookspoint last Sunday for alleged violation of the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act and murder.
Police Col. Ruel D. Tagel, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), said that the successful arrest of the No. 2 most wanted person in the Cordillera was a product of inter-agency coordination and intelligence sharing as part of the overall efforts to ensure public safety, law and order in the city.
The arrested suspect is also tagged as the city’s No. 1 top most wanted person and No. 2 most wanted person in the station level under Coplan ‘Slayer.’
Further, the suspect was arrested by virtue of separate warrants of arrest issued by the city’s Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 6 where no bail was recommended for her temporary release under both cases that were filed against her.
Among the operating troops are personnel of the BCPO, Regional Intelligence Division, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15.
Tagel pointed out that by collaborating and sharing information, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement agencies can actually closely work together to abate whatever criminal activities against the youth.
Moreover, he added that the collaborative effort resulted to better efficiency and resource optimization leading to the realization of a safer and more secure community, especially for the members of the vulnerable and marginalized sectors. By Dexter A. See
