BANGUED, Abra – A municipal councillor and two other individuals, including his brother, were injured after they were fired upon by a still unidentified gunman in front of a bar along Magallanes St., Zone V, here Saturday night.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, Provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the wounded individuals as Allen Brix Lopez Bachiller, of legal age, married, SB Member in the Municipality of Bangued and his brother, Angelo Lopez Bachiller, 22, married, both residents of Zone 5, Bangued, Abra and Benjie Balaoro, 12, a resident of Macray, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed thBachiller sibblings went to a bar in the are to fetch the girlfriend of the younger Bachiller.
When the duo, together with the gilfriend of the younger Bachiller, went out of the establishment and proceeded to board their vehicle parked nearby, a still unidentified gunman on board a motorcycle suddenly appeared and fired at them several times hitting them, including Balauro, a bystander, on the different parts of their bodies.
The three wounded persons were immediately rushed to the Seares Memorial Hospital for medical treatment but Councilor Bachiller was transferred to the Lorma Medical Center in San Fernando City, La Union for further medical attention.
Councilor Bachiller sustained Bachiller sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body, Angelo sustained lone gunshot wound on his thigh while Benjie was hit by a stray bullet and sustained lone gunshot wound on his right leg.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene seven fired cartridge cases of Caliber .45 and three live ammunition of Caliber 32.
The suspect immediately fled from the crime scene and that probers are still ascertaining the motive of the attempted murder of the municipal councilor and his brother.
