A couple was arrested by joint police operatives of Baguio City Police Office Legarda (Police Station 5) led by Pcpt. Ralph G. Dayag and Pozorrubio Municpal Police Station in their residence at Zone 7 Barangay Laoac, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan on Friday (December 4, 2020).
The couple was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Roberto R. Mabalot, presiding judge of Municipal Trial Circuit Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 1, Baguio City for a case of estafa with recommended bail of Php120,000.00 for their temporary liberty.
The arrested suspects are identified as Judia Jotie Ligot, 39 years old, and Rolando Fernandez Ligot, 43 years old, both residents of Zone 7 Barangay Laoac, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan.
The suspects transacted with the their victim sometime on March 2020 to deliver two thousand (2,000) sacks of rice weighing twenty-five (25) kilos each, which the victim paid the amount for One Million and Eight Hundred Thousand Pesos (1,800,000). The suspects, however, failed to deliver said sacks of rice despite series of demands made by the victim.
The arrested individuals were under the custody of Station 5 of the Baguio City Police Office Legarda for documentation prior turnover to the issuing court.
