TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) distributed today relief assistance to families of fire victims in the barangays of Lucog and Bulanao that happened this month.
The assistance included sleeping kits, hygiene kits, kitchen utensil and food packs from the Cordillera office of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-CAR).
The recipients were the family of Dennis Taguibao from Barangay Lucog and Nora Guiawan of Barangay Bulanao.
Taguibao, whose house was engulfed in fire in March 16th and Guiawan who lost their property and belongings from the fire incident that took place in March 13th were both thankful for the assistance extended to them.
Apart from the materials provided by the DSWD-CAR, the fire victims were also given financial help through the CSWDO’s Aide to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, according to Social Welfare Officer Marinel Dorgay, who led the distribution.
The city administration will continue to support those who are in a tough and stressful situation by offering the essential resources, according to the mayor who expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the DSWD-CAR.
