TABUK CITY, Kalinga – On August 9, 2024, the city government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office, held a capacity building on the assessment tool for childcare workers from Tabuk’s District 1 barangays.
The activity’s goal was to prepare participants with the support of barangay officials for aspects of the assessment tool such as physical environment and safety, as well as interaction and relationships between staff and children, and between children and other adults.
Other aspects of the tool that were discussed were staff qualification, development, and education delivery; family involvement and community linkages; and leadership program management and support.
During the activity, Helen Lacuesta of the City Local Government Operations Office, represented by Jack Gamatero, emphasized the importance of children’s growth during their early school years under the supervision of their parents and teachers.
Mayor Darwin Estrañero, represented by Oliver Mendoza, emphasized the need of government support in preparing them through various initiatives.
Achoko Vargas, Kate Silawan, Hayzel Mullat, Marinel Dorgay, and Judith Sangdaan all addressed the assessment tool sections during the learning event. Melody Dulawen and Alexa Barrera also served as event organizers, and Saturnino Aguban, Jr. emceed the activity. By Ian Addatu with Marinel Dorgay
