TABUK CITY, Kalinga– Male parents are encouraged to participate fully in the Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities (ERPAT) program since it enhances parenting abilities, according to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
Conchita Busaiya, Social Welfare Officer, claims that joining ERPAT will improve dads’ ability to fulfill their paternal tasks and obligations for raising their children well.
Additionally, ERPAT members support their barangay in efforts to stop domestic violence against women and children.
Furthermore, according to Busaiya, the ERPAT program was developed to help male parents become more productive and helpful members of their families and the community rather than to burden them with additional responsibilities.
In order to increase support for gender equality, enhance parenting abilities, and avoid abuse and violence, the CSWDO has also begun forming ERPAT groups in every barangay and has trained each group individually.
