BAGUIO CITY September 11 – Local residents and visitors will be given another treat by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) with its upcoming conduct of the Cupcake festival which is one of the major highlights of the 12th Annual Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism (HRT) Weekend.
With this year’s theme of ‘B2B-Back to Basics,” the offering of the assorted cupcakes by the participating establishments will be done on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the SM Atrium.
Ann Ramos, HRT Week competition committee chairperson, said seven establishments will be presenting the Philippine map in the form of at least 15,000 cupcakes in an area of 24 feet by 32 feet at the mall area.
“The cupcakes will be in the regular size of 3 inches in diameter with toppings of cream that comes in different colors with the island of Luzon in blue, the island of Visayas in yellow and Mindanao in red while the Pacific Ocean, West Philippine Sea and other bodies of water surrounding the archipelago will be presented in shades of blue and green,” Ramos stressed.
She disclosed the cupcakes that will be served include moca, chocolate, blueberry, apple, cherry, banana and vanilla flavors with cream toppings.
According to her, the participating establishments are the Baguio Country Club (BCC), Le Chef of the Manor, Hill Station, Swiss Baker, Mario’s Apple Blossom and Villa Cordillera.
The theme of the grand opening program of the HRT Weekend on September 20, 2015 at the SM City |Baguio Atrium will be ïts more cupcakes in the Philippines.
The Chef Wars elimination will be done on September 21, 2015 at the Forbes Ballroom of the Baguio Country Club (BCC wherein participating schools and establishments will be feted against each other to ascertain the best chef.
On October 10, 2015, participants of the Mr. and Ms. HRAB 2015 will be showcasing their respective talents in the scheduled talent competition starting at 1pm at the SM Atrium.
Further, the Mr. and Ms. HRAB preliminary competition, presentation of production costumes, swim wear competition and press presentation will be held on October 11, 2015, 6 pm, at the BCC Ballroom.
Talented local residents will have the chance to compete against each other with the HRAB Got Talent Too which will be held on October 15, 2015, 1 pm, at the SM Atrium.
Gladys Vergara-De Vera, HRAB spokesperson, said the three day culinary competition, jobs fair, trade fair and various seminars will be held on October 15-17, 2015, 8 am to 6 pm, at, at the Baguio Country Club and CAP John Hay Convention Center.
De Vera cited the coronation night of the Mr. and Ms. HRAB will be held on October 15, 2015, 7 pm, at the Baguio Convention Center while the awarding and closing ceremonies will be held on October 17, 2015, 7, pm, at the Baguio Country Club Ballroom.
