TABUK CITY, Kalinga – To ensure the safe and sound operations of cooperatives, the regional office of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) has begun its annual inspection of local cooperatives.
The following documents were inspected thoroughly by Karryl Agusdan of the CDA-CAR, the cooperative’s Manual of Operations, articles of incorporation and by-laws of the cooperative, registry of membership, meeting minutes of the General Assembly, Board of Directors, and Committees, and Development Plan.
The inspection also included the list of training attended by the officers, organization or functional structure, books of accounts, interim financial statement, audited financial statement, rating on COOP PESOS, and other necessary documents.
After the inspection, an exit conference was held to discuss the findings and formulate suggestions that could be put forth for the cooperative’s efficient operation. Participants included the City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO) staff, the CDA representative, the general manager, and officers of the concerned cooperative.
St. Thomas Credit Cooperative, KSU Transport Cooperative, and St. Andrew Multipurpose Cooperative were the first to be inspected during the initial round of examination done from March 6 to 10.
The activity was carried out to make sure that cooperatives abide by the regulator requirements set under the cooperative laws, rules and regulations, related laws, and other administrative issuances, noted Engr. Ronald Ryan Jose, Program Development Officer of the CCEDO.
