BAGUIO CITY – On December 23, 2024, the Cordillera office of the Department of Agriculture (DA-CAR) celebrated the Christmas season with gratefulness and with the spirit of camaraderie with a theme of, “ONE DA-CAR: Learning from the present and celebrating wins to weaving the path for a brighter 2025”.
During the celebration, a chorale competition was held, which was participated by the different teams; White, Blue, and Yellow, with the supervision of the team leaders, Regional Executive Director Atty. Jennilyn Dawayan, Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Research, Regulations and Integrated Laboratories Dr. Arlene Sagayo, and RTD for Operation Dr. Danilo Daguio, respectively. The chorale competition was topped by the White Team, followed by Blue Team, then Yellow Team, respectively. A children’s Christmas celebration was organized as well for them to experience the holidays with generosity, joy, and rapport.
Also, awards from the recently concluded team building on December 9-10, 2024 were awarded to the winners. The White team placed Champion, while Blue Team placed second, and Yellow Team garnered the third.
In her message, Dawayan, expressed her appreciation and recognition to all the support and initiatives of DA-CAR employees as well as the influence of their professional and personal growth in ensuring better working relationships. She further addressed her hope for the creation of a data analytics unit of the agency to analyze its operational and organizational efficiency, as well as the utilization of the agency’s fund for the readiness and preparation of projects, programs, and activities. In addition, she conveyed her gratitude to everyone for their accomplishments during the successful ISO accreditation.
Meanwhile, Sagayo conveyed her gratitude through striving for greatness for a future that is filled with resilience, purpose, and unshakeable faith in the agency’s journey. In addition, Daguio reiterated the characteristics that public servants should possess; kindness, honesty, and serving the clients well. He also commended everyone as they played a big role in the successes of the agency that transpired within the year.
As the year ends and starts anew, the agency hopes to continue serving the farmers and fisherfolk in the region with virtue. By Juby Mae Cayat
