ARINGAY, La Union – DA-RFO CAR Regional Executive Director Cameron Odsey has emphasized to employees of the regional agriculture department of doing one’s work diligently.
In the recent Year-end assessment and 2023 planning workshop and capability building activity of the Field Operations Division (FOD) of DA-RFO CAR in Aringay, La Union, the Director reiterated that by practicing due diligence in the workplace, the occurrence of minor errors being looked over would be prevented.
“FOD handles critical or priority commodities that have an impact on agriculture and departments performance. These are the so-called political commodities such as rice, the crops being covered by the High Value Commercial and Development Program is a challenge that determines how the DA is being viewed by the public,” the Director stated.
The Director requested the FOD to come up with a more efficient flow chart process acknowledging the various interventions provided by the DA to its beneficiaries.
“There were concerns to systematize the retrieval of necessary documents acknowledging receipts, this is why we are here to come up with doable processes.” the Director stated.
In 2022, the budget of FOD is more than half of the DA-CAR’s allotment handled by the division for the Rice, Corn, HVCDP, Organic Agriculture, and the Halal program.
The Director recognized the performance of the regional field office in its 2022 performance after garnering 99 percent in terms of obligations.
“I think we are good, and based on the latest report in the last mancomm meeting, we have obligated around 99.34% except for some items which were newly released funds which is good. For disbursement, we achieved 89% and hopefully it reaches 99 in the final report. Last year we were around 75% so we increased, we are still waiting for the measurement for physical but by all indications, I think we did well in 2022 which is why I think we can do this again for this year,” Director Odsey added.
