BAGUIO CITY – Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-Cordillera, Regulatory Division-Livestock Program personnel conducted a technical review and workshop on the preparation of liquidation reports for the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) Program beneficiaries around the region on September 10-11, 2024 in the city. The event was attended by representatives from the 21 farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) INSPIRE beneficiaries from the six provinces of the region.
“First of all, we at DA-CAR appreciate your presence today. Since you have a project that was funded by the government, it is your responsibility as FCA beneficiaries to submit you liquidation report”, Marlyn C. Tejero the Regulatory Division Chief said during the workshop. “We also want to improve your system of operation especially on the fund utilization aspect so we invited staff from the accounting office to guide and teach you with the processes which will empower you as FCAs”, she added.
Dr. Kevin Jim Luna, the Regional Livestock Coordinator of the DA-CAR, also assured their continuous support to the project of the beneficiaries. “We understand the challenge of preparing your liquidation reports so we conducted this technical review and workshop to assist you,” he said during his welcome remarks.
During the opening program, Frenzel Atuan from the DA-CAR Accounting Office talked about the process of preparing a liquidation report including the documentary requirements as indicated in the COA Circular 2012-01. Jayve P. Canor, the Regional Livestock Report Officer further, discussed the requirements and templates to guide the beneficiaries in their liquidation reports.
Efren Lorenzo from DA-CAR Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division also discussed on the possible marketing strategies for the FCAs.
Other key personnels who joined and assisted during the technical review and workshop were Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council Chairperson Mr. Ryan Palunan, APCO Kalinga Balag-ey Claver, APCO Apayao Dr. Raponcel Saguilot, APCO Mountain Province Pedro Pinos-an, Daisy Yogyog from APCO Ifugao, Cerilo Batan from APCO Benguet, including representatives from the provincial veterinary offices.
