PASAY CITY, Manila – The Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR), through its Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (RAFIS), garnered recognition during the prestigious Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, Metro Manila, on December 16, 2024.
DA-CAR RAFIS was nominated in three competitive categories: Outstanding Digital Campaign–Best Short Form, the Outstanding Viral Impact Award, and the Outstanding Digital Campaign of the Year Award.
This recognition program, spearheaded by the Presidential Communications Office, honors exceptional communication campaigns and strategies implemented by government agencies and local government units. It highlights public communication efforts that promote transparency, accountability, and public trust by enhancing citizens’ understanding of government programs.
The Parangal underscores the vital role of innovative and effective communication in governance. It encourages agencies to adopt creative strategies that resonate with the public, amplify program impact, and inspire other government institutions to improve public engagement. The event serves as a platform to celebrate best practices, foster collaboration, and elevate the standards of government communication.
The event was graced by His Excellency President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who commended the nominees and awardees for their dedication to effective public communication. In his speech, he emphasized, “Your work does more than report, it shapes the national narrative, challenges complacency, and demands better from those holding public office. Communication is the force that makes governance real.”
Leading the DA-CAR delegation at the event was Regional Executive Director Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan, alongside RAFIS Chief Aida Y. Pagtan, Information Officer Leny D.
