Department of Agriculture- Cordillera has successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015 certification after a comprehensive three-day surveillance audit conducted from November 13 to 15, 2024. The audit was a critical evaluation of the agency’s quality management system and processes, aimed at ensuring continued adherence to internationally recognized standards for excellence in service delivery.
The audit findings revealed only minor Non-Conformities (NCs) and Opportunities for Improvements (OFIs), signaling that the agency is on track in meeting its quality management objectives. One notable positive observation highlighted during the audit was the successful implementation of a new document tracking system for contractual manpower. This system, which tracks transactions from submission to accounting to ACIC, and List of Due and Demandable Accounts Payable (LDDAP) submissions to the bank, was praised for its efficiency and thoroughness in maintaining a complete transaction log.
Regional Executive Director, Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan, acknowledged that while the audit presented challenges in some areas, particularly with respect to risk management and monitoring, such reviews play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement. “The minor NCs and OFIs identified in the audit are opportunities for us to enhance our processes and systems,” Dawayan said. “These findings, alongside the positive observations, motivate us to strive for even greater efficiency and effectiveness in our service to the public,” she added.
With this, the Agency remains focused on enhancing its internal processes to better serve the farmers and its clients and ensure the success of its programs and services. By Leny D. Mendoza
