City officials recently commended and congratulated Florentino Dela Cruz, Jr. of the Baguio City Public Library for being bestowed the Dangal ng Bayan Award by no less than President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. last September 18, 2024 at the Malacañang Palace.
Under Resolution No. 588, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the city government is extremely honored and proud to have in its ranks a dedicated public servant who exemplifies a true and committed government worker, a shining example of public service over and beyond the call of duty.
Earlier, the annual Search for the Outstanding Government Workers was created to recognize and honor government workers for their outstanding contribution in the field of public service.
Last September 18, 2024, 10 individual awardees from various government offices received the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or the Dangal ng Bayan Award which is conferred to government employees who demonstrated extraordinary acts of public service and consistent adherence to high ethical standards under the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
Dela Cruz, Administrative Aide III or Utility \Worker of the Baguio City Public Library, was among those who were recognized and personally received the Dangal ng Bayan Award for his exemplary services and ethical conduct, making a lasting impact on public service.
Further, his contribution to the digitalization of the library services, improving community engagement and supporting library programs have enhanced the role of the city library in the community.
In 2023, Dela Cruz was awarded by the city government as the Most Outstanding Employee of the Year, first level category, during the Brand of Excellent, Extraordinary and Zealous Employees (BREEZE) Awards for his extraordinary performance of duties, and commendable acts that benefitted employees, the city and the public.
