LUNA, Apayao – The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Apayao honored outstanding educators, schools, and programs at the 2024 Pammadayaw Awards held on February 18 at the BGVJR Memorial Sports Center in Luna town.
The Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) recognized top performers in multiple categories and highlighted excellence in teaching, leadership, and institutional achievements.
The Gawad Cordillera awarded outstanding employees in various divisions, while the Best Practices Awards highlighted innovative and effective educational programs in elementary and secondary levels under Promising, Validating, and Exemplary Categories.
Environmental sustainability was a main emphasis, with the Search for Radiating Institutions Operating with Sustainable and Environment-Friendly Practices (ROSE) recognizing institutions that promote eco-friendly initiatives. Similarly, the National Greening Awards (YES-O) commended efforts in environmental conservation within schools.
The Gawad Siklab Awards celebrated schools demonstrating exemplary leadership and student development, while the Barkada Kontra Droga Awards honored institutions actively engaged in drug prevention programs.
Recognition was also given to winners of national and international academic competitions, particularly in math and science Olympiads, as well as to institutions with the Most Functional Community Learning Centers under the Alternative Learning System.
Educators and schools that excelled in gender and development (ReGADNItion Awards) and disaster risk reduction and management were acknowledged for their commitment to inclusive education and crisis preparedness. By Michelle Acantilado
