BAGUIO CITY – The Teachers Band of Baguio Central District 1 of the Department of Education once again stood for its motto “All for One”. In response to a parent’s plea for help, they performed another back-to-back Concert for a Cause.
The concert performed at the Gold Bar on November 29, 2017 was for Mr. Andres Petines, who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. The second one for Mr. Silver “Berting” Epe Buslotan, who was diagnosed with chronic meologenous leukemia, was on December 9, 2017 at the Baguio Central School covered court.
The band is composed of teachers from the different schools of the old District 1 headed by Alexander Domagas, Master Teacher of Baguio Central School. They responded in good faith for an immediate conduct of a concert for a cause as they are hoping for the best.
The Teachers Band and other band groups with Margaret Locano, a Cordilleran recording artist, showcased their popularity, skills, and golden voices in providing the best entertainment for the night to all nearby residents, family members, relatives, friends, and supporters as shown by the overwhelming attendance at the two venues.
The musical variety concert shows are geared towards providing assistance to the parents by generating a sufficient amount for the medical needs and therapy that costs almost half of the huge amount.
Mr. Benson Moga, a teacher of Baguio Central School, initiated the concert for a cause with support from the school principal Dr. Esther K. Litilit, believes that such activity like this is a miracle by faith to extend the life of the beneficiary.
