The Department of Education of the La Trinidad District, of Benguet Division held and conduct an Interface and Convergence with Local Government Units, PNP, School Stakeholder cum “ASPUAN DI PARENTIS” on July 2, 2021 at Buyagan Elementary School with the theme “Transcending Commitments and Fostering Partnerships Amidst Pandemic.
The activity was participated in by PSDS, SDO Representatives, PTA President, Teacher representative and School Head in every school both Elementary and Secondary including ALS, PTA Federation, LGU and PNP Representatives. This ASPUAN is an innovation initiated by SDO Benguet Division which stands for “Always Supportive Parents who Understand, Adopt, and Nurture” which aims to enhance knowledge of parents and other stakeholders on DepEd’s Policies, Programs, Projects and activities especially on MTB-MLE, appreciate K12 and expressed support to the program, and strengthen school-parent partnership.
The mayor of the capital town La Trinidad, Hon. Romeo K. Salda, gave his warmth welcome to all the participants from various sectors. As the mayor and the father of the municipality, he has to keep in touch of reminding every individual on health awareness of respecting the IATF health protocols for the earthly spread of the Covid – 19 pandemics. He encourages everyone to have vaccination against Covid virus once the vaccines are available.
The Schools Division Superintendent of Benguet, Gloria B. Buya-ao, represented by Mr. Glenn N. Duguis, the Administrative Officer V of Benguet Division also shared his message on the education of children which is most affected with this pandemic citing an Old African Proverb in educating children which says “It takes the whole village to educate a child” which mean education of every child is everybody’s responsibility.
The Aspuan di Parentis that focus on MTB-MLE Advocacy, were presented by
Dr. Rizalyn A, Guznian, Chief, CID gives emphasis on the importance of Mother Tongue in education. Mrs. Erlinda Quinuan, EPS for Mother Tongue also presented videos of lessons in Beginning Reading in Mother Tongue which is the first language at home.
Other salient features of the activity are the Orientation on End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) by the National Task Force representative. The numerous accomplishment reports of the PTA Federation presented by Mr. Raimton Andres, Federation president on what had the federation undergone even at the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic. To sweeten the theme of the activity, ERF/Reclassification/CSC Forms were presented by Ms.Maricel Codimdim, AO-II Secretary. Of course, these will guide teachers to prepare for their promotion. With too much adu, open forum took over in the afternoon session. With the blessing of the Almighty Father, the day’s activity ended with a warmth closing remarks by the Hon.
