The Department of Education (DepEd) of Baguio City division conducted a five-day In-service Training (INSET) to all teachers in all the ten districts on December 14-18, 2020. The said training is for the teachers to enhance on the different program and activities being implemented by the department during the new normal brought by the challenges amidst this pandemic scenario the country is experiencing today.
The teachers belonging to the different schools in district V conducted there virtual training via online activities for the first three days followed by another two days’ school-based training.
The keynote speaker on the very first days is the District V Public School District Supervisor is Dr. Julia L. Ladiong.
Her lecture workshop focuses on the new update on recruitment, promotion and reclassification of teaching position among teacher. She likewise inspires all the teachers in the district to start preparing their own folder based on the new guidelines. The different school head and officer in charge (OIC) of the different schools in the district complete the day’s lecture workshop as they all spoke more on the Department of Education Manual and styles (DMOS) that centered more on the new formats in request letter, transmittal, invitation, and other means of communication with in the department.
The other key featured speaker on the succeeding days includes Dr. Lourdes B. Lomas-e, PSDS, District VI gave a lecture on Work Ethics for the DepEd office, Loida C. Mangangey,Education Program supervisor, LRMDS, lectured on Basic Research and Innovation, Ms. Assuncion D. Saguid , Education program specialist, lectured more on the Gender mainstreaming in education, and Gender and development.
The other topics includes the Learning continuity operation plan of the school (LCOP), with Mrs. Neives C. Barbosa, Master Teacher 1 as the lecturer and facilitated the different adjustment to be done by the school for the second quarter, and Ms. Jane D. Segyep, lectured focus on the Inclusive Education (IE) program in the new normal and the different four components of the program.
