LINGAYEN, Pangasinan- – -DepEd Pangasinan-1 and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) remained undefeated as of their last game in the 1st Pangasinan Inter-Agency Basketball Tournament held recently at Rosales gymnasium.
DepEd-1 hauled its third win against its rival—Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) by an eight-point advantage, 85-77, in Game 4. BFP, on the other hand, defeated Cenpelco team in Game 5 with an 11-point lead, 86-75.
Team Philippine National Police (PNP)-B notched an easy win in Game 1 against the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) team by an overwhelming 76-point difference, 141-65.
Game 2 favored the Dept. of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) team against Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC)-A as the former pulled a lopsided win, 94-73.
Meanwhile, DepEd Pang.-II bagged its first-ever win against Social Security System (SSS) team, 85-58, in Game 3.
It can be recalled that the friendship games between different line agencies was launched by Gov. Amado I. Espino III last July 3 to establish a venue where officials and employees of national government agencies can build closer ties via friendly competition.
The next scheduled games are scheduled to be held on July 29, August 5, 12, and 19. Venues are yet to be announced.
Here are the match-ups for July 29: Game 1-PhilHealth vs DepEd-Urdaneta; Game 2- PNP-A vs BIR; Game 3- PANELCO vs R1MC-A; Game 4- DepEd- Pang.-II vs Judiciary; Game 5- DPWH vs BJMP.
