LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The coronation night for the Mr. and Ms. Benguet 2022 last November 25 was just the beginning of a more exciting journey for the beauty queens and kings of the 13 towns as they aim to complete their year long reign raising awareness on their respective advocacies.
Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas issued Executive Order No. 2022-043 dated December 20, 2022 organizing the Mister and Miss Benguet Leadership and Youth Advocacy Development (LAYAD) Council in recognition of the dynamic role of the youth in nation building and to encourage them to actively participate and be involved with the programs of the provincial government.
“They are leaders with noble and earnest advocacies which are very helpful in our aspiration for youth development,” Governor Diclas said. “This pageantry is not definitely just a competition for a crown but a venue for the promotion of youth advocacies.”
With the effectivity of the EO, all of the candidates during the Mr. and Miss Benguet 2022 will be involved in the programs and activities of the provincial government relating to youth development and will be recognized as Benguet Youth Advocates.
Meanwhile, Mister and Miss Benguet 1st Runners-up, Mr. Kabayan and Ms. Mankayan, are now conferred the titles Mister and Miss Benguet Nature 2022 while 2nd Runners-up Mr. Kibungan and Ms. Kabayan are the Mister and Miss Benguet Youth 2022.
The LAYAD Council is chaired by Governor Diclas with Board Member Jeston S. Balong-angey, (SKF, Benguet Chapter President) as Vice Chairperson, while heads and officers of the different departments of the provincial government are members. By SAP Jr.
