LUNA, Apayao – The Department of the Interior and Local Government Cordillera (DILG-CAR) led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF) Project in this municipality on June 18, 2024.
Entitled “Concreting of Unpaved Road Section along San Isidro Norte Road,” said project is valued at PhP1.8 million and is a reward for the municipality’s adherence to the requirements of the SGLG for FY 2023.
The ceremony was led by Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose of the Cordillera office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), who was joined by Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil, DILG-Apayao Provincial Director Engr. Mayer Max G. Adong, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Joan-Ana J. Dumalsin, and DILG-Apayao personnel. Municipal and barangay officials, functionaries, and project beneficiaries were also in attendance.
On the same day, DILG-CAR also led the groundbreaking ceremony for another SGLG-IF Project titled “Concreting of Road, Purok Rosal, Cabatacan, Pudtol, Apayao.” Also worth P1.8 million, this project is proof of the municipality’s commitment to good local governance demonstrated by its successful compliance with SGLG standards for 2023.
The event was led by RD San Jose, accompanied by Vice Mayor Randy A. Laoat, DILG-Apayao PD Engr. Adong, MLGOO Norman D. Venus, along with municipal and barangay officials.
In her address, RD San Jose commended the municipalities of Luna and Pudtol for their achievements as SGLG passers in 2023 and for garnering additional accolades from DILG and other partner agencies.
