DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized 22 local government units (LGUs) in Ilocos Region for their exceptional performance in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of their anti-illegal drug programs, projects and activities.
The regional awarding ceremony was held at the Agora Event Center of Thunderbird Resort in San Fernando City, La Union on February 3.
The national awardees include Carasi in Ilocos Norte; Galimuyod, Gregorio del Pilar, Lidlidda, San Ildefonso, and Sigay in Ilocos Sur; Aringay, Bacnotan, Bagulin, Balaoan, Caba, Luna, San Juan, Santol, and Sudipen in La Union; and Alaminos City, Anda, Balungao, Basista, Natividad, Sta. Barbara, and Urbiztondo in Pangasinan.
They are among the 172 LGUs across the country which were recognized for their exemplary performance in complementing the national government’s anti-illegal drug campaign and for garnering perfect score in both functionality audit and awarding assessment.
These LGUs were also recognized during the National ADAC (Anti-Drug Abuse Council) Performance Awards held at the Manila Hotel on December 13, 2022.
Each LGU was rewarded with P100,000 cash incentive.
Meanwhile, the DILG also gave recognition to 84 highly functional provincial, city, and municipal ADAC in the region.
The awardees include the provincial government of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
Also awarded were 14 LGUs in Ilocos Norte, 27 in Ilocos Sur, 11 in La Union, and 28 in Pangasinan.
Awardees in Ilocos Norte are Batac City, Laoag City, Adams, Bacarra, Banna, Burgos, Currimao, Dingras, Dumalneg, Marcos, Pagudpud, Pasuquin, Piddig, and Vintar.
For Ilocos Sur, they are Candon City, Alilem, Banayoyo, Bantay, Burgos, Cabugao, Caoayan, Cervantes, Magsingal, Nagbukel, Quirino, Salcedo, San Emilio, San Esteban, San Juan, San Vicente, Santa, Sta. Catalina, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Maria, Santiago, Sto. Domingo, Sinait, Sugpon, Suyo, and Tagudin.
In La Union, these are San Fernando City, Agoo, Bangar, Bauang, Burgos, Naguilian, Pugo, Rosario, San Gabriel, Sto. Tomas, and Tubao.
For Pangasinan, they are San Carlos City, Aguilar, Alcala, Asingan, Bayambang, Bolinao, Bugallon, Burgos, Calasiao, Dasol, Infanta, Labrador, Laoac, Lingayen, Mabini, Malasiqui, Mangaldan, Mangatarem, Mapandan, San Fabian, San Manuel, San Quintin, Sta.
