BONTOC, Mountain Province – As Mountain Province celebrates its rich heritage through the Lang-ay Festival and its founding anniversary, Department of the Interior and Local Government – Cordillera Administrative Region (DILG-CAR) Assistant Regional Director Ruperto B. Maribbay Jr. has commended the province’s exemplary governance and enduring traditions.
Regional Director Maribbay, representing DILG Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr., has cited Mountain Province as the recipient of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), emphasizing the residents’ commendable support, which led their province to achieve a significant milestone during his speech on April 7 in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
“Hindi po nakamit ng provincial government po ýan kung hindi rin po sa inyong suporta sa officialdom ng Mountain. Province ang inyong involvement, para makamit ng mt prov ang awards na yan,” he expressed.
He further congratulated the province’s twin fests, 18th Lang-ay and 58th Foundation Day, addressing DILG’s support to celebrate the Mountain Province’s zeal for cultural preservation.
“We are one, in your continuous promotion of the unity in tribal communities and of course the appreciation and the preservation of cultural heritage as everyone of you stimulates the promotion of local tourism,” he enthused.
With the theme, “MP at 58: Honoring Traditions and Reaching Greater Heights,” Mountain Province stands tall at the peak of honoring traditions while practicing good governance as the province celebrates its founding anniversary along with the Lang-ay Festival. By Lyka Capsula
