LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Department of Labor and Employment – Baguio-Benguet Field Office in partnership with the Local Government Unit of La Trinidad, Benguet, and the Department of Migrant Workers – Cordillera Administrative Region (DMW-CAR) held a Local and Overseas Jobs Fair in Celebration of the 2025 Strawberry Festival.
The career-building event was held at the Municipal Gymnasium of La Trinidad, Benguet, where a convergence of eighteen (18) local employers offering 750 local vacancies, and eight (8) overseas agencies offering 2,565 job orders met eager job seekers.
A Government One-Stop-Shop area ensured the accessibility of government assistance and services to the job seekers and walk-in clients.
Highlighting the importance of joining the employers and would-be employees, the job fair resulted in twenty-four Hired-On-The-Spot (HOTS) applicants. Through their proven qualifications and positive personality, the HOTS will be starting their careers in their chosen workplaces.
Among the successful HOTS is Ms. Joylyn Comila, who was hired by the SM Supermarket as a cashier. Ms. Comila thanked the PESO and DOLE for organizing the Jobs Fair to help jobseekers like her, as they start their careers. By Daryll B. Ponard
