The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Ifugao conducted three (3) sessions of Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training last November 5-7, 2024 in the municipalities of Lagawe, Lamut and Alfonso Lista.
This BOSH Training is a customized module for owners or workers of micro-enterprises to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) guidelines which comprises of four (4) modules. During the said training participants were able to learn the importance or salient features of OSH, Strategies and Approaches in Communicating OSH, how to promote healthy workplaces, how to identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, determine appropriate ways to control these hazards among others.
The modules were presented by Odessa Bustamante, senior labor and employment officer and labor inspector, as well as assistant labor inspector Rodel Bumidang, together with labor and employment officer John Rey Yapes, during the training session in Lagawe.
DOLE continues to help establishments comply with OSH standards and come up with their OSH Program to prevent any workplace injuries, diseases and even death for safety is our priority.
A total of 59 individuals have successfully finished the training and have joined the increasing number of Certified Safety Officers in the province. By DOLE Ifugao Field Office
