LAGAWE, Ifugao – A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed between the Cordillera office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-CAR) through the Provincial Science & Technology Office of Ifugao (PSTO-Ifugao) and the municipal government of Lagawe for the project entitled “Strengthening of Ayangan National Agricultural and Vocational High School’s (ANAVHS) Capability for Skills Training and Production of Food Products: An S & T Support to the K-12 Educational System”. DOST-CAR was represented by Engr. Genna B. Jallorina, Provincial Director of PSTO-Ifugao, while Honorable Mayor Martin L. Habawel Jr. signed for the municipal government and Arsenio P. Guinyang, school head, for ANAVHS.
The project is under the DOST Local Grants-In-Aid program that intends to strengthen the capability of ANAVHS in the implementation of the K-12 educational system offering TVL that will develop and enhance the skills of their students through provision of science and technology interventions (STI).
DOST CAR will fund the acquisition of instructional/production facilities for cakes & pastries for the cookery & organic fertilizer production on Organic Agriculture Production strands, respectively.
Other interventions will be the provision of STI-based content – Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS), and various technology training.
STARBOOKS is a stand-alone information source designed to reach those with limited or no access to S&T information resources.
