In celebration of 2025 CORDINNOVATION and National Innovation Day, the Department of Science Technology- Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) emphasized the importance of science technology and innovation.
According to Dr. Nancy Bantog, Regional Director of DOST-CAR, this celebration focuses on developing solutions to societal problems to promote inclusive growth and for the progress of the region through advance technologies.
She stressed the necessity of recognizing the use of robotics and Artificial Intelligence in businesses to help improve productivity, competitiveness, and resilience and also governance, thus, the 2025 CORDINNOVATION is focused on Local Government Units (LGU’s) and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME’s).
Bantog also shared that the CORDINNOVATION shows the innovative efforts of the Regional Research, Development and Innovation Committee (RRDIC)- CAR members to recognize the needs of its partners, make researches that will contribute in creating solutions in providing these needs.
“The national innovation day is actually envisioned as a convergence point, a space or a platform for collaboration among the different players in the innovation, the youth researchers, the academic institutions, industries, entrepreneurs, investors both national and local government,” she stated.
Sancho Mabborang, DOST Undersecretary for regional operations also said that this event improves the collaboration between communities, researchers, Civil Society Organizations (CSO’s), and the government to provide Scientific researches and locally relevant solutions.
“Through DOST One, we ensure that every initiative is designed to empower and connect communities, industries, and public and private institutions to bring innovation closer to the people and respond to their needs,” Mabborang stated. By Rhealyn Charwin
