LUNA, Apayao– The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Apayao recently informed that their Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) is still available for interested applicants.
The program is a nationwide strategy of the DOST to encourage and assist Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting technological innovations to improve their products, services, and operations.
Qualified applicants will be able to access new technologies, improved efficiency and output, better quality products, increased market reach, and financial assistance.
In order to be qualified in the program, applicants must have letter of intent to avail SETUP assistance, duly accomplished DOST TNA Form 1 and Form 2, Project Proposal using DOST SETUP Form 001, Copy of business permits and licenses, certificate with DTI, SEC, or CDA whichever is applicable, photocopy of the official receipt of the firm, articles of incorporation for cooperatives and associations, board/ legislative council resolution authorizing the availment of the assistance, Financial statement for the past 3 years, projected financial statement, complete technical specification of the equipment to be acquired, and three quotations from suppliers/fabricators.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications at the DOST-Apayao PSTO.
PSTO said the program has already benefited five beneficiaries in the province with a total of P2 million in financial assistance. This year the DOST-Apayao allocated a budget of P4.09 million for successful applicants. It opens to all sectors, including agricultural, manufacturing, and service-oriented businesses.
With the development goals of Elias Bulur Jr., to strengthen support to MSMEs development and promotion, DOST SETUP, likewise, provides the development of small enterprises by providing them with the necessary resources, technologies, and skills to improve their productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability.
