BAGUIO CITY – The DPWH-CAR Management Committee headed the cascading of the FY 2023-2028 Performance Governance System (PGS) Strategic Objectives and Measures and Topics and Policies related to the Quality Management System (QMS) recently at the DPWH-National Training Center, Cabinet Hill, Baguio City.
Present were Regional Director Khadaffy D. Tanggol, Assistant Regional Director Emmanuel W. Diaz, the rest of the Regional Office Management Committee, composed of the different Division Chiefs, and the Assistant Division Chiefs. Also in attendance were the District Engineers, Assistant District Engineers, and Section Chiefs of the DPWH-CAR 12 District Engineering Offices.
The meeting aimed to cascade the approved FY 2023-2028 PGS Strategic Plan and the recently concluded DPWH Overall QMS General Assembly on May 5 wherein, the meeting was attended by the DPWH-CAR Management Committee, heads of the Public Information Unit, and QMS Secretariats, on May 22 at the DPWH Central Office.
“This is a conscious effort by the department to explicitly connect our management systems. To connect the PGS to our SPMS, QMS, so if ever we adhere to this Strat Plan, maybe there would be fewer issues with our QMS and will show an improvement to our performance, as manifested in our performance indicators.” ARD Diaz said in his message.
The DPWH-PGS Committee has identified three (3) major outcomes for the updated DPWH-PGS Strategy Map and Enterprise Scorecard, which consists of reduced travel time, improved road network safety, and lives and properties protected from natural disasters.
The new PGS Strategy will help DPWH endeavors to be more operationally and organizationally effective by setting priorities, refining the targets responsive to the needs of the changing times, and by looking for better ways of doing things to improve current conditions.
“We should conduct monthly meetings to assess the performance of our Region. We should know how to set our targets and help the weakest link. Dapat walang iwanan, help each other, magtulungan tayo para umangat ang CAR.” (No one should be left behind, we should help each other so CAR can improve.) RD Tanggol said. By DPWH-CAR
