TINOC, Ifugao – DPWH-CAR will start the construction of the proposed interjurisdictional road, Gumhang – Luhong – Danggo – Ambaguio, located at Tinoc, Ifugao.

RD Khadaffy D. Tanggol together with Ifugao Representative Solomon R. Chungalao and Tinoc Mayor Samson C. Benito, spearheaded the ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony and capsule-laying for the construction of the 12.24 kilometer-road held at Brgy Gumhang, Tinoc, Ifugao on April 11, 2023. 

Implemented under the Convergence and Special Support Program: Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG), the Php 241 million road construction will promote economic efficiency allowing an easier and more convenient transport of agricultural and commercial products from the countryside to major economic hubs in the area, travel time savings for all the motorists and increase mobility of essential services in the area.

Mayor Benito expressed his deep appreciation to the key officials and officers who have been instrumental behind the successful realization of this project as it promises to increase productivity and create new opportunities for local businesses and households. 

Meanwhile, RD Tanggol in his message sought the cooperation of all the stakeholders during project implementation to be able to finish it on time and secure additional funding for its total improvement and rehabilitation which will contribute significantly to the progress not only of the adjacent communities but the whole municipality as well. 

Representative Chungalao in his speech mentioned that the envisioned road network will likewise help boost tourism in the locality. He also thanked Ifugao District Engineers Diosdado Lomibao and Rommel Balajo for their assistance and support. Moreover, he emphasized that the realization of this project symbolizes how serious his administration and how important it is for them to address the needs of the people in the community. Roads play an essential role in any development agenda. “Aramid ti pakakitaan”, he added.

Implemented by the Regional Office, the construction of this new road will commence this month and is expected to be completed next year. The project is composed of earthworks,subbase and base course, drainages, slope protection structures and other miscellaneous works.

The event was also attended by DPWH Maintenance Chief Nelia I. Antonio, Planning and Design Chief Angelita B. Mabitazan, Equipment and Management Chief Oscar G. Guya, other staff from the Regional Office, Ifugao 1st and 2nd DEOs, Chief of Staff Edmond M. Kindipan, Gumhang Brgy. Captain Joel G. Nalibhan, Danggo Brgy. Captain Huwebes B. Duclap, Luhong Brgy. Captain Nelson I. Pauhan, members of the different barangay councils, community residents and beneficiaries, and representatives from concerned stakeholders. By DPWH-CAR
