ATOK, Benguet – A 34-year-old driver died after the vehicle that was loaded with bell pepper fell into a 5-meter-deep ravine at Langilang, Paoay, here, Thursday afternoon.
Police authorities from the Atok Municipal Police Station identified the fatality as G. Mark Ayson Singlao, 34, married and a resident of Balangabang, Paoay, Atok, Benguet.
Probers disclosed that the vehicle driven by the victim was travelling along the barangay road of Langilang enroute to the capital town of La Trinidad to sell the bell pepper that was loaded on it when it suddenly stopped at the ascending portion of the said road.
His companion, Adler Sarac, alighted from the vehicle to put in place a stopper at the rear wheel of the vehicle to prevent it from moving backward when it rammed over the same and continue to move backward until it plunged into the said ravine.
The victim reportedly sustained massive traumatic head injury that allegedly caused his instantaneous death.
