BANGUED, Abra – A 54-year old driver died after he was repeatedly shot by still unidentified assailants while driving his motorcycle at Dalnatan, Agtangao, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Leopoldo Barbadillo Bernardez, 54, married, part-time driver and resident of Sitio Dalnatan, Agtangao, Bangued Abra.
Initial police investigation showed concerned residents in their neighbourhood were able to see the lifeless body of the victim sprawled bloodied on the ground beside his motorcycle with blood oozing from his abdomen.
The victim was said to have sustained two gunshot wounds on his abdomen and his right buttocks and was rushed to the nearest local hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on his body.
Responding police operatives are still conducting an in-depth investigation on the case to ascertain the real motive behind the shooting incident and the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation.
