BAGUIO CITY – A member of a local drug group was arrested anew in a sting operation hatched by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera last night along Kitma Road, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
Jeffrey Pamitan Damian, 32 years old, cook, and a resident of the said barangay was nabbed when he sold two heat-sealed sachets containing shabu weighing 5.0843 grams worth P10,000.00 to a PDEA-CAR anti-narcotics agent.
It can be recalled that Damian was previously arrested during a buy-bust operation on February 15, 2013. He was, however, acquitted on August 27, 2015 due to inconsistencies in the testimony of the witness against him. Despite his acquittal, Damian continued to ply his illegal drug trade.
Damian’s apprehension brings to 11 the number of members of local drug groups arrested by PDEA-CAR for this year alone.
He is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR Regional Office holding facility pending the filing of violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the proper authorities.
