TAYUM, Abra – A 34-year jobless man who was listed as a drug pusher under the watch list of the local police force was hurt after he was shot by a still unidentified lone gunman while he was on his way to their residence at Poblacion, here, Sunday night.
Superintendent Mark Pespes- officer-in-charge of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Nestor Buenavista Lopez, 34, married, unemployed and a resident of Poblacion, Tayum, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was walking towards their residence when the still unidentified lone gunman suddenly appeared from nowhere and fired at him once hitting him on his stomach before fleeing towards and undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation for him to answer the crime he committed.
The motive of the shooting incident has yet to be established considering that the case is still subject to further investigation.
