BAUANG, La Union – A 40-year old illegal drug pusher who surrendered recently together with other individuals in the drug watch list of the province was gunned down after he shoot it out with policemen when he resisted arrest by policemen during the implementation of search warrant in his house in Barangay Upper San Agustin here yesterday.
Chief Inspector Siverio Ordinado Jr, La Union police information officer, identified the fatality as Albrando Palbusay, number 9 in drug watch list of Pugo, La Union.
Palbusay suffered gunshot wounds on his head and body and was rushed at the Naguilian District Hospital for treatment but was declared dead upon arrival.
Investigation showed that the joint elements from the La Union police provincial intelligence branch and personnel of the Bauang police station went to Palbusay’s house to implement a search warrant but he resisted and tried to shoot the troop but was subdued and shot by the policemen.
The suspect was the second drug surrenderee killed by policemen in La Union under Oplan Tokhang.
