BANGUED, Abra – A 39-year old suspected drug pusher died after he was shot to death by still unidentified assailants at Emirald Hills, Lingtan, here, recently.
Superintendent Mark Pespes, officer-in-charge of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Geronimo Ballesta Cariño a.k.a Ambot, 39,married, resident of Zone 7, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was in the place of incident purposely to feed his higs when the still unidentified suspects intercepted his motorcycle and fired at him several times before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple fatal gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered six spent shells of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
