LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A notorious drug supplier died after he was shot to death by two still unidentified gun-wielding and mask-wearing gunmen while on board his motorcycle along Pico road, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as James Tumorir Gatawa alias “Barton,” legal age, native of Buguias, Benguet and a resident of Toyong, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim, one of the known drug suppliers in the locality, was driving his motorcycle on his way home when he was fired upon by the two suspects who waited for him along the road.
Upon seeing that the suspect fell on the ground due to multiple gunshot wounds, the suspects immediately fled on foot words an undisclosed direction while concerned residents rushed the victim to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
Responding elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene multiple spent shells of a still undisclosed calibre used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
