BAGUIO CITY – A notorious drug trader was able to elude arrest while a drug user was collared by police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during the implementation of a search warrant in the residence of the former at Military Cut-off here Wednesday morning.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the elusive drug trader as Rey Rivera while the arrested drug user was named as Nelrose Marinas Estepa.
Confiscated during the raid in Rivera’s residence were two sachets of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less eight grams with DDB value of P48,000.00; Five tablets of suspected ecstacy (subject for qualitative examination); Drug paraphernalia; One cal .38 (No SN); and Assorted ammunition (three pcs for cal 9mm, one for M14, and one for cal 22).
The search warrant was issued by Judge Mia Joy O. Cawed of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 4.
The arrested drug user and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the BCPO headquarters for documentation in preparation to the filing of the appropriate charges against the one who is at large and the collared user.
