LUNA, Apayao – Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera (DSWD- CAR) Regional Director Maria Aplaten led a community outreach event in Barangay Calayucay, Luna on June 1-2, 2024.
The outreach program was a joint effort involving the DSWD-CAR team, SWAD-Apayao, the Provincial Local Government of Apayao (PGA) through its Provincial Health Office (PHO), the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Luna, the Department of Health (DOH)-CAR, Pink Women on Fire Corporation (PWOFC), and St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP).
During the outreach, Director Aplaten led the distribution of over P200,000 worth of financial assistance under the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) and the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) to 73 households (10 under AKAP and 63 under AICS). Family food packs were also distributed. Additionally, the Project BUTSY of the PHO provided medical services and consultations to the residents.
The Pink Women on Fire Corporation (PWOFC) contributed school supplies, hygiene kits, footwear, toys, and bedding for school children, while DOH-CAR donated medicine and medical supplies to families. By Krizza Joy Castillo
