BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) here has opened 80 vacant positions for the Government Internship Program (GIP) this year.
The GIP aims to enable the youth to realize their potentials, become responsible individuals and active participants to national development, to initiate the youth to public service, to serve as recruitment mechanism for potential public employees and to extend possible financial assistance to the participants for next year’s enrolment.
The Program is open to individuals who are 18-25 years old and are high school graduate, TESDA Certificate holder or Alternative Learning System certificate holder or holder of any similar certificate issued by the Department of Education or Commission on Higher Education. Members of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) or youth under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program family or Listahanan identified poor family will also be prioritized.
Interested individuals may submit their application together with photocopies of birth certificate and Income Tax Return of parents or certification indicating the total monthly family income, and recent school registration form or certification from the school indicating the recent year semester attended. Applications may be submitted to Focal Person on Youth Carmencita Chaluyen on or before 18 April 2016 at clchaluyen@gmail.com.
Youth hired under the Government Internship Program will serve in the DSWD within 22 days from 18 April to 17 May 2016 and will receive a remuneration of P 214.00 per day.
