BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)- Social Welfare and Development (SWAD)-Mountain Province (MP) led by their new team leader, Social Welfare Officer Bernardo T. Cadaon, Jr. provided updates on the department’s different programs during the Monday program and flag ceremony at the Provincial Plaza on May 27, 2024.
According to Cadaon, under the Risk Resiliency Program for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM), the DSWD-SWAD, in partnership with the provincial government, will be conducting a cash-for-training activity under Project Local Adaptation on Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (LAWA and BINHI) in Barangays Bananao and Butigue, Paracelis.
As for the sustainable livelihoods, Cadaon shared that the DSWD is also pursuing its consistent empowerment of communities where through its Sustainable Livelihood Programs (SLP), they have been organizing SLP associations by targeting and monitoring yearly participants from Bauko, Tadian and Sadanga.
Cadaon also provided updates on the successful first quarter payout for senior citizens from the ten municipalities of MP under their Social Pension Program (SSP) while conducting validation for new updated waitlists and monitoring unpaid members in partnership with the various municipal governments and the conduct of technical assistance to Natonin on their Omnibus Guidelines for Social Pension Programs on June 5, 2024.
Finally, under the “Ayuda para sa Kapos and Kita Program” (AKAP), the payout will start on June 4, 2024 with the target beneficiaries from barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars, barangay child developers, barangay tanods, and members of the lupon tagapamayapa. By HENT
