BAGUIO CITY – The 2025 National and Local Elections in Baguio City was marked by a peaceful and orderly atmosphere, with zero crime incident reported on election day.
In anticipation of the polls, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) intensified its security preparations months ahead of May 12. On election day, 775 personnel were deployed to voting centers to bolster police visibility, while round-the-clock monitoring was established to swiftly address any emerging concerns. Quick Response Team and Reactionary Standby Support Force were likewise placed on alert to respond to emergency situations and any call for reinforcement from deployed personnel in polling precincts.
These security operations were conducted in close coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and partner agencies, reflecting a strong multi-agency collaboration that proved vital in preserving peace and order on election day. Equally crucial was the public’s discipline and active cooperation reinforced by information drives on election laws and guidelines.
“We were confident from the beginning that with proper preparations and strong community support, and the peace-loving character of the people of Baguio we remain optimistic about the midterm election,” stated PCOL RUEL D TAGEL, BCPO City Director. This level of preparedness even allowed BCPO to send 90 personnel to augment troops in the province of Abra.
With the successful midterm election, BCPO pledges to carry forward the same level of discipline and dedication in all public safety operations to ensure that Baguio City remains safe, secure, and orderly.
