LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Eastern La Trinidad National High School (ELTNHS) and Bekkel Elementary School headed by Sonia Jovelyn A. Sab-it and Joselito Tabayoyong hosted the 7th Monthly Outreach Meeting of the PTA Federation of La Trinidad District on January 15, 2021 at Bekkel Elementary School Covered court.
The 7th Monthly Outreach Meeting was attended by the PTA presidents of the 31 Elementary and Secondary schools of La Trinidad headed by its Federation President Raimton Licdan, teachers of Bekkel Elementary School and ELTNHS, and Barangay Beckel Officials headed by Hon. Gregorio Antonio.
“The federation aims to have a monthly meeting to present their accomplishment and discuss problems to be addressed in the different Elementary and Secondary schools of La Trinidad. In addition, the outreach meeting is held monthly in the different schools for benchmarking and the school heads of the school to collaborate in addressing the issues and concerns of schools” said Letty A. Bibal, ELTNHS PTA President.
Licdan emphasized in his speech the importance of good relationship between the PTA and school in managing the school especially during this time of pandemic. Limited face to face modality is being pushed in the said meeting since majority of the parents within La Trinidad are clamoring for this due to lack of time and knowledge to teach their children. Struggles of parents and teachers during the first quarter such as reproduction of modules and distribution of modules to learners. Despite these struggles the federation together with the LGUs represented by Hon. Gregorio Antonio assured everybody that they will support the schools of La Trinidad whatever learning modality will be implemented.
One project of the federation presented was the re-greening of the different schools which made them proposed to plant memorial tree inside the school campuses of La Trinidad Schools.
The body agreed to draft and sign a manifesto stating that both parties the Parents and teachers and stakeholders are responsible in nurturing and protecting the trees just like the learners. This would also symbolize the good relationship of the stakeholders. The event ended with the planting of the memorial Jacarandra tree at Bekkel Elementary School and Eastern La Trinidad Campuses witnessed by the participants.
Other initiatives of the federation are the provision of CCTV camera’s and photocopy machines of La Trinidad schools funded by LGU La Trinidad and the portable washing area distributed by La Trinidad MDRRMO.
The school heads of the host Schools Sonia Jovelyn A. Sab-it and Joselito Tabyoyong expressed their gratitude to the support given by the federation, LGU and other stakeholders.
