STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan – To provide Filipinos with access to future security benefits, the Pag-IBIG Fund urges all graduating Senior High School (SHS) students aged 18 and above, including tertiary level students, to register for membership.
This initiative helps students secure their future by providing savings options and access to housing loans.
Rose Anne Aquino, marketing officer at the Dagupan Branch, emphasized the importance of early registration, as it gives students a head start in securing long-term financial support once they reach the legal age.
“One of our goals is to encourage and help students aged 18 and above register for membership in the Pag-IBIG Fund, as this is a pre-employment requirement,” Aquino said during a recent Pantongtongan Tayo (Let’s Talk About It) virtual presser hosted by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Pangasinan Information Center on Jan. 22.
For graduating SHS students entering the workforce and managing their finances, becoming a member allows them to start saving early.
For tertiary students, early membership ensures they can benefit from the fund’s services once they transition into their careers, providing financial security and planning opportunities.
Likewise, the Pag-IBIG Fund also welcomes out-of-school youth of legal age, allowing them to register as voluntary members, contribute based on their financial capacity, and access benefits.
Hassle-free membership registration
Joining the Pag-IBIG Fund is a simple and quick process.
Jonah Grace Oxiles, head of the Marketing Division at the Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan Branch, said that students can register online from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for a branch visit.
Follow these easy steps and start your journey toward financial security:
Visit the Pag-IBIG Fund website at https://www.pagibigfund.gov. ph/
- Go to the “e-Services” section and select “Virtual Pag-IBIG for Membership”
- Click on “Be a Member”
- Select “Register” to obtain your Pag-IBIG Fund Membership Identification (MID) Number
- Complete all the required fields and submit your registration
The online registration does not require documents, such as a birth certificate or identification card (ID).
“The registration process is user-friendly and requires minimal information. All you need to do is input your details correctly, and you will receive your tracking number within 48 hours (two days),” Oxiles said.
A member’s unique Pag-IBIG MID, which is valid for life, serves as a gateway to various benefits offered by the Fund, enabling members to make contributions and apply for loans.
Perks for Pag-IBIG membership
Pag-IBIG members can easily make real-time payments through GCash, streamlining the process and enhancing accessibility.
For members without access to GCash, the Pag-IBIG Fund provides several alternative payment options, including:
- Over-the-counter payments;
- Debit or credit card payments via Visa and Mastercard;
- Payments through Maya (formerly PayMaya);
- 7-Eleven payments powered by ECPay; and
- Overseas remittance options.
These options ensure that all members, regardless of their access to digital wallets like GCash, can conveniently pay their contributions.
“Once you’re registered, you can easily pay your contributions, apply for loans, and even get a Loyalty Card Plus,” Aquino said.
She urges members to obtain a Loyalty Card Plus after registration, as it serves as a physical ID and provides the quickest way to complete transactions, whether online or over the counter.
It also facilitates loan disbursements and claims and provides access to discounts and rewards.
In addition to these benefits, the Pag-IBIG Fund offers competitive interest rates for housing and multipurpose loans with terms of up to 30 years, along with flexible payment options for short-term loans, while its savings program helps members build funds for future financial security.
For those planning to get a Loyalty Card Plus, the following branches in Pangasinan are available:
- Dagupan branch – 2nd floor of BHF Family Plaza along Mayombo Road; and
- Urdaneta branch – 3rd floor of CB Mall along MacArthur Highway.
Meanwhile, the Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan Branch announced that the University of Pangasinan (UPANG), both at its Dagupan City and Urdaneta City campuses, is their new partner for the Loyalty Card Plus.
With this partnership, members can receive 50 percent discounts on tuition and miscellaneous fees, plus P200 and P500 off the registration fee for SHS students and incoming freshmen, respectively.
