BAGUIO CITY – A former school principal was arrested by combined detectives and police operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – North Central Luzon (NCL) during the service of her warrant of arrest in their residence along Quirino-Magsaysay subdivision here around 9:45 am Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Jimmy Catanes, CIDG-NCL commanding officer- identified the arrested individual as Dr. Virginia Rosita Gorospe, a resident of the aforesaid place.
She was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by Judge Cecilia Corazon Dulay Archog of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 6 of Baguio City for Violation of Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) Malversation of Funds and Violation of Sec 3(e) Republic Act (RA) 3019 The Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act under Criminal Case Numbers 37785 to 86 respectively with recommended bail bond of P40, 000.00 each.
She is a former principal of the Pinsao Elementary School until her retirement in 2011. On February 21, 2015 she entered into an agreement with Skill Power Institute wherein she used public funds without the approval of concerned officials of the Department of Education.
