PUGO, La Union – A Pasig City-based family composed of seven members were chosen as the 2025 Baguio-Benguet Lucky Visitors during the conduct of this year’s search from Baguio-bound buses right at the premises of the Flying V gasoline station in barangay Cares, here, Thursday morning.
The annual Search for the Baguio-Benguet Lucky Visitors is the initiative of the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club (BCBC), the oldest media organization in Baguio and the Cordillera, to help in bolstering the sustainable growth of the local tourism industry.
The Celestino family is composed of spouses Ricardo, 62 and Carolyn Andrews, 57, Jerome, 30, customer service crew and her girlfriend Jellyn Bautista, 31 from Balungao, Pangasinan and an administrative staff; Eunice, 13, Julia, 11 and Eugin, 3.
Thee Celestino couple consider their fist time visit to Baguio City as memorable as their being selected as this year’s lucky summer visitors had been well timed as they will be celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary during their well deserved break in the country’s undisputed Summer Capital.
The family was chosen from the Baguio-bound Victory bus with body number 708 and the 9th bus that was flagged down by the members of the BCBC selection team at around 8:20 am Thursday.
The family will be receiving from the organizers a four-day red carpet treatment from Monday Thursday up to Easter Sunday where they will be provided with free guided tours in the different destinations in Baguio and Benguet, free meals and accommodation and souvenir items from sponsors.
Members of the family expressed optimism that their visit to the city will be one of their most memorable vacation as it will be their first time to hold their bonding as a whole family.
The annual search is being conducted by the media organization in partnership with the Pugo municipal government led by Mayor Kurt Walter Martin, Tuba municipal government under the leadership of Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan and Vice Mayor Maria Carantes, Baguio City government headed by Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong, La Trinidad municipal government under the leadership of Mayor Romeo K. Salda and Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan, Benguet provincial government lead by Gov. Melchor D. Diclas, Atok municipal government under the leadership of Mayor Franklin Smit, Tublay municipal government led by Mayor Armando Lauro and individual and corporate sponsors. HENT
