PARACELIS, Mountain Province – A 53-year old farmer died after he sustained still undisclosed type of wounds on his forehead, chest and left thigh while driving away several carabaos that entered their corn farm at sitio Banbannawag, Palitud, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Rolando Sagun Capua Sr., 53, married, farmer, native of Palitud and a resident of Marat, Poblacion, Paracelis, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the victim’s wife informed him of several carabaos that allegedly entered their corn farm that prompted him to go and drive away the animals to prevent them from destroying their plants.
However, the victim was not able to return to their house for over 30 minutes that prompted his wife and several other companions to locate his whereabouts.
To their surprise, they found the lifeless body of the victim with wounds on his forehead, chest and left thigh lying on a portion of their corn farm.
The victim was immediately rushed by concerned citizens to the Paracelis district hospital for medical treatment but he later expired after being accorded the necessary medical attention while the case is still subject to further investigation to ascertain the identity of the suspects to facilitate their immediate arrest and for them to answer for the crime they committed.
