ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – A 30-year old farmer was injured after he was allegedly hacked by his fellow farmer during a heated altercation that transpired in a drinking session at Kamanggaan, Busilac, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the victim as was Mateo Rico Pinkihan Ohomna, 30, married, farmer while the suspect was named as Edwin Oliveros Laranang 29, married, farmer both residents of Kamanggaan, Busilac Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with their relatives, were having a drinking session when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between them.
The suspect allegedly hacked the victim twice on his forehead and abdomen causing him to be sprawled bloodied on the ground.
He was immediately rushed by their relatives to the Alfonso Lista District Hospital for medical treatment but he was later transferred to a hospital in Santiago City, Isabela for further medical attention because of the seriousness of the injuries he sustained from the said incident.
The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding police operatives and was brought to the Alfonso Lista Municipal Police Station for the preparation of the appropriate charges against him.
